Calling in Sick

Calling in Sick

We’ve been waiting for Anah to catch COVID and the day has come. It has spread through our home, so I am not going to be able to post something this week.

Over the past few weeks, I have been starting a series on the skill of inductive Bible study as a key skill to have to learn how to understand Scripture, apply it, and share with others. Without this vital skill, we will give out “BIble-flavored” advice, mixed in with some of our own wisdom.

This is something I am taking seriously in my own life and these posts are going to help me to outline a study process that I can use in my own journey so that I am equipped with the big picture as well as in-depth understanding of key doctrines and passages.

Here’s what I’ve written so far:

Preparing Ourselves for Conversations in Scripture

How Sufficient is Scripture?

Better Than Bread: How to Study the Bible Part 1 (Observation)

Practicing Observation in Bible Study; Titus 2:3-5

In the weeks to come, I’m planning to look at the skill of interpretation, and then after that, focusing on the skill of application.

When we are able to study God’s Word for ourselves, we can grow as saints, sufferers, and sinners—His Word is sufficient for all our cares…even Covid!
