Summary Post: Studying, Living and Sharing God's Word

In my previous series, I explored the journey believers take from sinner to saint. One of the key ways God helps us in this transformation of our hearts is through the gift of His Word. Yet so often, we as believers dip into it on a shallow level, rely on others to feed that word to us, or worst of all, neglect it entirely as irrelevant.

My goal over the past few months is not merely to focus on how I do Bible study. My prayer is that by sharing with you how you also can actually study the Bible, without getting a seminary degree. you can actively participate with God as He creates the image of Christ in you. His Word is completely sufficient for every problem we face, even if it does not directly address it, and as we grow in confidence in it, we learn to lean our whole weight on it.

Though there are many ways to study the Bible, I focused on the 3-step process of

To practice what I preach, I also spent time in a passage of my own (Titus 2:3-5). I share an “over-the-shoulder” look of my own observations, interpretation (of genre and cross-references) and application. It has been a rich time for me personally over the past few months to dig deeper into these verses in Titus—a study that I have continued beyond writing these posts!

As the Word gets into us, God uses us to share that Word to others, that they too may grow in Christ! Scripture transforms us from the inside out and as we become conduits of God’s goodness to others as it changes how we think, speak, and act. In my last post, I talked about the power of studying God’s Word in community as well as how we can share it with others for their growth.

May the Lord help you to grow and mature in faith as you study His Word for yourself and share it with others.
