Merry Christmas!

The Lord is so good. As I had shared in my last post, I had the opportunity to go on a one day personal retreat. In a nutshell--it was an awesome time. I'll have to post again about what the Lord shared with me during that time. What He showed me has given me a new perspective on my time and how I use it. More to say on this at another time. I promise.

Yesterday, we received an early Christmas present from the Lord...a call from our adoption agency telling us that Anah's paperwork has been released by the government! This is a big step for us, as it now allows us to send in our letter of intent of adoption. While we have our paperwork to turn in, Anah also has her paperwork as well. With the release of this information, we are now able to be "matched" with her. Although travel is still not going to take place for awhile yet, this step is a part of the process. As a part of this information, we are now able to learn a little bit more about her story---where she was found, medical evaluations, and a little more about where she is staying right now. We are still waiting for our immigration paperwork to be processed, but hopefully that will happen soon. With the holidays, it may just be taking a little bit longer. We need to complete our dossier paperwork (including the clearance on my physical) too, but hopefully that won't take too long.

We hope that once we get the okay from immigration, our paperwork will be ready to take up to Sacramento for processing, and then on to the Chinese consulate in downtown LA. Then we can send it to China, where it will need to be translated and where we need to await the okay from the Chinese government to adopt Anah.

As I think about all that we have to do to bring Anah home, the Lord is reminding me that He has done no less for us. From the first bite of that fruit till He said, "It is finished!" He has patiently waited, worked, and walked, all so that He could bring us home. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord, I hope you will join me in thanking Him for all He has done for us so that we could be His.

Merry Christmas, my dear friends. I'll be back after the New Year. May your Christmas celebrations be full of His joy. See you soon.
